Legislation change: What to do if you receive a B-certificate for your heating oil tank

What does a B-certificate mean?

A fuel oil tank that does not fully comply with regulations, but does not pose an immediate risk of soil contamination, is given a B attestation (orange brand plate or sticker). This means:

The tank may remain in use for a maximum of 6 months.
During this period, the identified deficiencies must be repaired
After the repair, a re-inspection by an accredited expert is mandatory.
If the deficiencies are not resolved and re-inspected within the time frame, the tank must, in theory, be taken out of service within 6 months to a maximum of 1 year.
